Story  :

Vaishnavi (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) and Anand (Anand Deverakonda), both from slums, are high school lovebirds. Vaishnavi enrols at the college, whereas Anand drops out and becomes an auto driver. Vaishnavi has a dramatic metamorphosis and becomes close to Viraj (Viraj Ashwin) during this period. Gradually, issues arise between Vaishnavi and Anand. An unforeseen event occurs that alters Viraj, Anand, and Vaishnavi's lives collectively. What took place next? What impact did the event have on the three? This is partially the main plot point. The unforeseen event that occurred was a tragic accident that left Vaishnavi severely injured. This incident not only affected her physically but also emotionally, causing a rift between her and both Anand and Viraj. The accident forced all three of them to confront their own demons and make difficult choices that would ultimately shape their future. 

Positive Points:

Baby is a reflection of contemporary relationships, and filmmaker Sai Rajesh illuminates the subject matter with three exquisitely rendered, yet distinctively different, characters. Because of the film's great storytelling, one would come to like each of the three main characters by the conclusion. The most memorable moment is when Viraj and Anand first cross paths. Their encounter is filled with tension and sparks, as their contrasting personalities clash in a captivating way. This pivotal moment sets the stage for a complex and unpredictable journey, where the audience becomes deeply invested in the lives of these characters and their interconnected relationships. 

The second part of the film is fairly strong, blending drama, emotions, and powerful scenes in just the correct amounts. The excellent dialogue that would resonate with the target viewers made Baby even more appealing. There are many scenarios that young people can identify with, and there are plenty of whistle-worthy moments. A couple sequences are set up to impress the kids, and they work out nicely. The film also succeeds in creating a sense of nostalgia, with its carefully selected soundtrack and references to popular culture. The chemistry between the actors is palpable, adding depth and authenticity to their performances. Overall, Baby is a captivating and entertaining film that leaves a lasting impact on its audience. 

Anand Deverakonda wows everyone immensely with his incredible performance. Through Baby, we get to see the actor in Anand, and the filmmaker has made the most of him. Anand did a fantastic job on the part, although it is quite difficult, especially for a young performer. Anand Deverakonda's portrayal in Baby showcases his versatility as an actor, effortlessly capturing the complexities of his character. His ability to convey emotions and connect with the audience is commendable, making him a promising talent in the industry. With Baby, Anand proves that he has the potential to excel in challenging roles and establish himself as a prominent actor in the future. 

Vaishnavi Chaitanya is amazing in this romantic drama; her performance is proof of her talent. The evolution of her character has been carefully thought out. Vaishnavi was equally amazing in the emotional scenes. She and Anand Deverakonda had a wonderful phone talk. A decent role is handed to Viraj Ashwin, who executes it flawlessly. To the best of his abilities, perhaps even better than his past jobs, Viraj completed this one. The chemistry between the actors is palpable, adding depth and authenticity to their performances. The director's vision and storytelling skills shine through in every scene, making Baby a must-watch film for any lover of romantic dramas. 

This is what happens when romantic comedies get popular. Every song that Vijay Bulganin has created is amazing, and the background score enhances the intensity of many of the moments. The music in Baby, composed by Vijay Bulganin, is truly exceptional. Each song adds a layer of emotion and excitement to the film, while the background score intensifies the impact of key moments. Bulganin's talent and creativity have contributed greatly to the overall success of the movie. 

Negative Points:

The film is fairly long, clocking in at about three hours. For a better experience, the creators should have omitted a few moments, particularly in the early half. Some people might not get along with the film's topical themes. However, for those who appreciate thought-provoking storytelling, the film's length allows for a deeper exploration of its complex narrative and character development. Additionally, the inclusion of topical themes adds a layer of relevance and social commentary that can spark meaningful discussions among viewers.

The film picks up steam in the first hour and becomes more engaging in the pre-interval scenes. Good conversations and moments do occur, but they are few. The effect is somewhat diminished by the tempo. We occasionally get the impression that the first half is a little strained.

However, as the film progresses, it finds its rhythm and captivates the audience with its intricate plot twists and compelling performances. The strained moments in the first half are overshadowed by the thought-provoking themes and character development that unfold in the latter half, leaving viewers with a satisfying and intellectually stimulating cinematic experience. 

Final decision:

Overall, Baby neatly illuminates contemporary relationships with its unorthodox finale. Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Viraj Ashwin have all given outstanding performances. The first half was a little sluggish and might have been better, so even if the second half has its heart in the right place, its effect is somewhat diminished. The producers also had the option to address the long duration. But this weekend, Baby is worth seeing. Take it on.
